Guardianship

I have experience assisting petitioners, respondents, and their families in guardianship proceedings.  Guardianship is a last resort, but remains an important and necessary aspect of the law.  When a person is unable to understand and make decisions regarding their important affairs, a guardian may be needed and appointed on their behalf.  I will be happy to discuss the guardianship process with you in detail and whether it is appropriate in your circumstances.

Financial and Health Care Powers of Attorney

I also have experience assisting individuals in drafting their financial and health care powers of attorney.  These are important documents to create because it allows for you to name the people you trust, and grant them certain powers to assist you in your health care and/or financial decisions.

If you are able to create these documents, even when you don’t currently need assistance in your health care or financial decisions, it allows trusted family, friends, or professionals to step-in when it becomes necessary.  That way, you are able to choose who will assist you when their help is needed rather than the court appointing someone to do so through a guardianship proceeding.

Wills

I also have experience drafting wills.  A will is an important document because it reflects your wishes regarding how you would like your property distributed upon your death.  Without a will, your estate is governed by state law rather than by your individual wishes.

Traffic Tickets and Small Criminal Matters

I will be happy to discuss your concerns regarding traffic tickets and other criminal matters in order to pursue the best outcome available.  Outcomes typically depend on the facts surrounding the charge or citation as well as your driving record or prior criminal record.

In order to obtain the best outcome, it is always best to seek assistance as soon as possible.
